Inscription text: The Old Fish Market foot of Market Street between Water Street and the Delaware, built in 1710. Removed in 1837. About the year 1829 fish and meat markets were erected on Market Street from Front Street up to Eighth St, in the middle of the street, and later from 15th to 17th. Demolished in December 1859. Sketch made from the N.W. corner of Water St.
