Image description: Photograph depicts men protesting Bethlehem Steel after the company failed to disestablish the Employees’ Representation Plan and an election of officers for an Independent Employees’ Union, which is regarded as a “company union,” was underway. Often referred to as members of “Little Steel,” workers at Bethlehem Steel then partook in a walk-out against Bethlehem Steel in New York and Pennsylvania in conjunction with Steel Workers Organizing Committee. The protest lasted five days before members of both parties agreed to withhold the selection of an exclusive bargaining agency until after the ongoing court case against Bethlehem Steel concluded.
