During a rally at Rheem Manufacturing Company, war workers listen as military personnel address the crowd. The banner on the front of the stage indicates Rheem Manufacturing Company received the Army-Navy "E" Award. This award was granted to companies which were considered outstanding in production for the War and Navy Departments. During the 1940s, Rheem primarily produced water heaters, boilers, tanks, stamping and Navy ammunition boxes for WWII efforts. The photograph which shows war workers raising their hands indicates they had loved ones somewhere in the service.
