Inscription:
Dear Sally,
Having an opportunity by Councillor Van-
Campon of this county, I have just to inform you that
I have arrived on Sunday night, tho fatigued, much
better than when I set out. We have already tried a woman
& negro man for murdering her bastard child, and a 
white man for a rape; all were aquitted_ one has
been tried for treason, in joining the Indians [illegible] and
is found guilty. On Saturday I expect to set out for
Reading.
Give my love to the children, to Mrs. Finney &
Dunn [illegible] if still with you, and kiss my dear little
Tommy for me. Adieu,
