Image Description:
In the image, a group of immigrants has just arrived in the United States and is standing in front of a building labeled "Castle Garden." In front of them are six pits labeled "friend from the old country," "confidence man," "temptress," "baggage swindler," "money changer," and "boarding house runner." The "boarding house runner" grabs one of the immigrants and tries to pull him into the pit. There are two policemen. The first is asleep on a bench and the second ignores what is going on.
