As the newly landed slaves arrive to America, Joseph Hiester is already in mid-swing with his whip directed towards the first few men in line tied together by chains.  In the background is a momument that lists records of his corruption, reactionaryism and slave dealing to emphasize his savage attacks.

Full title is "Joseph Hiester's claims to the votes of a Christian People, or the Reformer of 1820 exhibiting his love of liberty and country..."

It is a copperplate print most likely published in Pennsylvania.
