Winter scene, small one-story wood building with a high pointed roof, surrounded by a low wall. People walk along a path in front.
Inscription:
Old Derry Presbyterian (Log) Church, 13 miles east of Harrisburg, said to be the first church built in the State west of Philadelphia, the Records are preserved back to 1720. Log house on the right is the Pastor's Study of which the Revd. Wm. Bertram was the first, who died May ye 2nd 1746 aged 72. Also Revd. John Roan who died in 1775. The remains of each lie in the South corner of its Graveyard under large white marble slabs supported on brown stone blocks at the corners. Catharine Steel, a member of this church died Feby. 20th 1803 after raising 14 orphan children belonging to this church. No grass will grow on her grave, although mould from several fields has been placed there and seed sown.
