Series of nine images, the first is a written description. The following eight are watercolors which depict city buildings along the road, including row houses and factory buildings. Two images show a bridge across a river.
Inscription:
Market Street South side Sketch of all the houses on the south side of Market Street from 23rd Street to 32nd and Lancaster Street, including the bridge across the Schuylkill River on November 30th 1881, previous to raising the grade of the street at 30th Street fourteen feet, and bridging it over, termining it at the east wall of the Friendly Hotel west of 31st Street. The row of brick houses adjoining the west end of the bridge were demolished in December 1889. D.J.K. (Front, first page)
