The Arcade, On the north side of Chestnut Street above 6th the Bolivas Eating House occupying the lot between igt and Old Drury as the Chestnut St Theatre was then called (in 1836). Was built by a Company after the London style in 1829, Dr. David Jayne purchased it and rented it to Mr. James Brown for a hotel. In 1859, he removed it and built handsome stones on the site. David Gibb rented the basement for many years as the Franklin Eating House, where he served delicious Stewed Gyotere (sp?), genuine Peat-Reek and Scotch Whiskey punch. David was a true scotchman and an obliging host. D.J.Kennedy
