East Side of Broad Street above Thompson, the church steeple on the extreme left is the 1st Presbytirean Church Kensington founded 1813. Located on Columbia Avenue East side above Marlboro, the large steeple in the centre is the Catholic Church 5th and Girard Avenue, Broad Street at this point in 1839 at the time this sketch was made was the Race or Trotting ground where all fast "mags" tried their speed from about 4 to 7 oclock any afternoon and evening, the fences lined with lookers on.
