Egglesfield, Situate on the West bank of the Schuylkill River adjoining Solitude on the south the residence of Robert E. Griffith Esq'r, the mansion stood on a rocky point nearly opposite to "Sedgely", 400 ft. from the river and 75 feet above its level, mansion 40 by 50 feet with a porch. partly circular in front, and Piazza along the back fronting south, Demolished by Park Commission in 1870. Sketched by D.J. Kennedy in 1869.
