Photograph depicts visitors and exterior of Jewish Hospital for the Aged, Infirmed, and Destitute.  Originally operated at 56th Street and Haverford Road in 1864, the hospital was moved in 1873 to Old York Road in an expansion effort to accommodate various homes and clinics.  In 1952, the hospital merged with Northern Liberties Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital to form the Albert Einstein Medical Center. The hospital was and is an important staple in the history of the Jewish community in Philadelphia.
