Image Description:
This small pencil sketch depicts a nymph and satyr in the foreground on the lower left. The nymph rests on rocks and glances at the viewer while the satyr peers across her lap. The background depicts a lightly drawn landscape with a cluster of trees on the right upper corner balancing the composition.

This drawing is one of a small collection of drawings created by American-born artist Benjamin West (1738-1820) during his career in London (circa 1765-circa 1819).
