Image: 1/6 plate; Head and shoulders of a man in profile with a prominent mustache, wearing a bowler hat, a dark jacket with collar high on the back of the neck, a dark vest and tie, white collar points turned out. Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Nonpariel with ornate matte finish (late 1850s onward). Case: Purple velvet covered book style with overlapping front flap and clasp with brass fittings on the front exterior (similar to the scarce Berg No. 6-271a), and a white silk and leather interior (gilded with an interior edge trim) and a rose red corduroy pinchpad.Format:
