Image: 1/6 plate; Seated elderly man with arm resting on cloth-covered posing table, wearing a dark jacket, trousers and vest, with a white shirt with collar turned down, and a dark tie. Preserver: [none]. Mat: Nonpariel with ornate matte finish (late 1850s onward). Case: Paper-covered wood frame unmatched halves embossed with a flower and vase design on the front and a floral design on the back, with a dark green pinchpad, missing its cushion (1850-60s).
