Image: half plate; Standing girl wearing a shoulder-baring sleeveless dress in a light fabric with dark dots and striped trim, cinched at the shoulders, with a full skirt, with white stockings and dark shoes, hair parted in the center and smoothed down over the head, a bracelet on one wrist, her brother standing on an upholstered wooden chair wearing a white shoulder-baring sleeveless sacque gathered at the shoulders with plaid ribbons, with whitework trim, white stockings and black shoes, hair parted at one side and puffed over the forehead Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Leather-covered wood frame embossed with a grapes and leaves design both front and back, with an interior gilded edge trim, a red velvet pinchpad, and a red velvet cushion embossed with scrollwork (1850s).Inscription:
