Photograph of the first Romanian consul in Philadelphia, Mihai (Michael) G. Marian, with his wife and children. Michael Marian, an early Romanian immigrant, established the Marian Bank, located on the northwest corner of Fourth and Fairmount Avenue in Northern Liberties, served as a president of the Societatea Banateana-Vasile Alecsandri, and in 1913 was a founding father of the first Romanian Orthodox Parish in Philadelphia, Descent of the Holy Spirit.
