Assorted photographs of the facilities at Byberry Hospital for Mental Diseases.
(1) is photograph from the library dated April 7, 1944;
(2) is photograph from the dining room dated June 6, 1938;
(3) is photograph of the broken ceiling in the basement kitchen over the soup tubs dated June 6, 1938;
(4) is photograph of the shower stalls and rotting ceiling dated September 26, 1941;
(5) is photograph of naked patients from the "C" building dated May 22, 1938; (6) is photograph of the bowling alley dated April 8, 1944;
(7) is drawing of the workers' building designed by George W. Pepper, Jr., dated September 25, 1941;
(8) is photograph of the new building at Byberry dated April 7, 1944; 
(9) is photograph from the Mayor's inspection tour dated February 3, 936;
(10) is photograph dated October 16, 1938, taken during the state takeover at Byberry.  Pictured from left to right are: Dr. Charles A. Zeller (Superintendent of Fairview State Hospital), Charles I. Engard (State Secretary of Welfare), Dr. Arthur B. Noyes (Superintendent of Norristown State Hospital), Dr. Herbert C. Woolley (Superintendent of Pennhurst State School for Feeble Minded), and Dr. William C. Sandy (Director of the Bureau of Mental Health of the State Department of Welfare.
(11) is photograph dated October 16, 1938 showing state troopers stationed at the main entrance of Byberry during the state takeover.
