"A four-oared racing shell was dedicated yesterday by members of the Crescent Boat Club, No. 5, Boat House Row, in memory of Edward T. Smith, Jr., who was killer July 27, 1944 while fighting with the Marine Corps on Guam. Christening the boat is Smith's 12-year-old cousin Roseanna Dennehey. Behind her, left to right, are Smith's parents, who live at 1032 Belmont ave.; State Sen. John J. McCreesh, and his son, Howard M. McCreesh, captain of the club." (on verso)
