1844: S. Peck begins daguerreotyping in New Haven, CT
1851: co-partnership with Scovill Mfg. Co. established to manufacture miniature daguerreotype cases
1853: Peck's cases appear on the market for sale
1854: obtains patent for thermoplastic process, Oct.3
1857: Peck sells out his interest in the ompany to Scovill
