Letter from President Abraham Lincoln to Jesse Kilgore Dubois dated July 11, 1863.  In the letter, Lincoln details General Lee's retreat from Gettysburg following three days of fighting and references General George Meade's plans to attack Lee's forces.  Reflecting on the Battle of Gettysburg, Lincoln remarks that he is "more than satisfied with what has happened north of the Potomac so far" and that he is "anxious and hopeful for what is to come."
