Joseph Reed (August 27, 1741 – March 5, 1785) was a lawyer, military officer and statesman of the Revolutionary Era who lived the majority of his life in Pennsylvania. He served as a delegate to the Continental Congress and, while in Congress, signed the Articles of Confederation. He served as President of Pennsylvania's Supreme Executive Council, a position analogous to the modern office of Governor.This digital record contains images that depict all documents held in folder 8, box 28 of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania Society small collection. It contains correspondence written by Joseph Reed from 1772 to 1780. The documents that predate 1780 are more personal.
