On the right side of the image, there is a fenced-in area with many willow trees. On the left, there is an open dirt area surrounded by fence, and into the background there are a number of large brick buildings.
Inscription:
Arch Street from Schuylkill 8th (now 15th) to Sch'l. 6th (now 17th). Corn field on the left corner Grove meeting lot on the right, the Willow trees on South side of Arch St, MacArrans Garden S.W. corner of 17th St. and Grave yard opposite in 1839. Mrs. Dorothea Miller lived in the 2 story stone house on N.W. corner of 16th St. now occupied by C. Keeneys Store in 1890. Sketched by D.J. Kennedy.
