Biography:

The Philadelphia Record was a popular one-cent daily newspaper.  It was founded in 1877 by William M. Singerly.  In the 1920s Rodman Wanamaker purchased the Record.  After Wanamaker’s death in 1928, David Stern bought the paper.  The Record ceased publication in 1947.
