Item is a letter written by Thomas Bentley to William Wilberforce on the matter of the abolishment of the slave trade.  In his letter Bentley urges Wilberforce and other members of Parliament to "Let not your praise-worthy pity and affection and endeavors for the poor, afflicted, oppressed Africans cool" but "neither let a sight and sense of their situation hinder you from seeing and feeling and lightening the heavy burdens of your brethren at home."
