Various photographs of workers at the J.B. Stetson Company factory from the Philadelphia War Photograph Committee collection documenting World War I participation on the Philadelphia home front.

(1) is photograph of men "blocking" hats. From original photo caption: "Blocking - The body is pulled on a wooden block and shrunk in hot water until the crown fits the block exactly, the brim also being pulled and stretched until it lies perfectly flat."

(2) is photograph of women trimming soft hats. From original photo caption: "Trimming Soft Hats - Here the bands and leathers are attached by hand, the bindings being machine sewed. There are scores of designs for bows and many styles of bindings."
