This volume is a collection of five printed engravings with accompanying text by Edward Scriven based on Benjamin West's large painting "Christ Rejected." The engraving and text were not originally bound as in this volume. The text in in English and French. The painting "Christ Rejected" is in the collection of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (accession number 1878.1.9).

The painting "Christ Rejected" tells the story of Jesus being brought before the Jewish High Priest and Elders by Roman soldiers. The prints in this volume focus on Jesus' supporters and their emotions as the High Priest rejected Jesus as the son of God.
