Contains the unbounded former volume 1 of the extra illustrated version of John Galt’s The Life, Studies, and Works of Benjamin West: pages 2, 4, 14, 29, 41, 45, 46, 55, 80, 114, 115.Contains prints with portraits of Benjamin West, the 1682 indenture of Jacob Fuller, a letter from the artist, a few miscellaneous prints, and original artwork. The original artwork contains the drawings Lot, a pen and pencil drawing with a wash frame of two figures, the male turning away from the female; Hope, a sketchy sepia drawing in pen and wash of the female allegorical representation of hope holding an anchor; and an untitled small sketch of a classical female figure in pen holding a chalice and a knife.
