Programme for the third commencement exercises of the Training School for Nurses at the Frederick Douglass Memorial Hospital (1898-1899). The commencement was held in the "New Century Drawing Room, 12th Street below Chestnut." Three graduates and three undergraduates are named in the program. The Frederick Douglas Memorial Hospital was the first hospital to specifically service the black community of Philadelphia and to educate and employ black physicions and nurses.
