Founded in 1845, John Bromley & Sons became the largest textile manufacturing firm in Kensington, and they dealt specifically in carpets. The location of the depicted building in this undated lithograph is currently unverified. Throughout the company's history, Bromley & Sons inhabited many locations around Kensington, the largest being at 201-263 East Lehigh Avenue (which burned down in 1971).
