A somewhat faded letter written by John Raach a former slave residing in New Orleans to Rachiel Aires of Philadelphia. It is apparent that Miss Aires had assisted Raach during the initial stages of his escape along the Underground Railroad. This letter concerns the escape and freedom of Raach's mother Elizabeth Raach, who was still enslaved.
