An illustration of the remnant of the Great Elm tree, also known as the Peace Treaty Tree. It is traditionally understood that William Penn met with local Native American representatives under this tree, to sign the intital "unbroken" treaty, to establish the City of Philadelphia. This illustration is found between pages 28 and 29 of a publication titled, The General Address (In Two Parts) Of The Outinian Lecturer To His Auditors. It produced by the Outinian Society and no specific illustrator or writer is listed. It was printed in London by "W. Nicol, late Bulmer & Co., Cleveland Row, St. James" in 1822.
