Inscription:
Old Point House on the Delaware below the Navy Yard opposite to Gloucester Point N. Jersey in 1846. In 1790 to 1825 this was the afternoon drive and resort of the wealthy citizens of Philadelphia, some of which boarded here during the hot weather, General Washington among the number. Sketched by D.J. Kennedy. Mr. Joseph Brown was proprietor of the above. (Front Bottom)
