The Atlantic House, Absecom Beach now Atlantic City N.J. The first Public House or Hotel was kept by Jeremiah Leeds in 1823. a small two story frame near the Inlet, some years later it was altered to a three story with a large addition on the West end, subsequently an extensive addition was added on the east end running north towards the Inlet Wharf,- The first store also on the Island is seen to the right of the Hotel.

Location of the Old Atlantic Hotel. Burned down in 1881. Store still standing in 1884.
