Image: 1/6 plate; Postmortem head a shoulders of a boy with hair parted on one side, head laid on a white cushion, dressed in a plaid roundabout with shiny buttons, eyes partially closed and mouth open. Preserver: Straight, narrow, embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame unmatched half cases, embossed with an urn design on the front and a geometric design on the back, with gilded edge trim on the front interior, red velvet pinchpad and a ruby red velvet cushion embossed with a scrollowork design (1850s).
