Inscription:
131 North 16th Street Philadelphia. On July 20th 1860 between 6 & 7 oclock P.M. while Mrs. K and I were sitting at our front window a meteor appeared coming from the direction of Fairmount, emitting fire and smoke, with loud reports every four or five pulsations. It passed north of us apparently about 600 feet above the earth going east at a rapid rate, it was shaped like a cigar and appeared to be the length of the width of 16th Street as it passed over it.
