Image: 1/9 plate; Seated soldier holding rifle with yellow applied to buckles. Preserver: Lighter preserver with inward points, looks to be trimmed down from a larger (1/6 plate) size (late 1850s). Mat: Double elliptical, embossed with ornate design (late 1850s early 1860s). Case: Thermoplastic with geometric design (Berg No. 3-317), with red velvet pinchpad, purple velvet cushion embossed with floral design.
