Preserver: Straight, embossed with simple rope pattern (early 1850s). Mat: Double elliptical, with sandy finish (mid 1840-50). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame with flat embossed floral and bird design, red velvet pinchpad, red velvet cushion embossed with floral design (1850).
