Image: 1/9 plate; A reproduction of an oval image of a tree (uncertain if the original object is embroidered and/or a piece of jewelry). Preserver: Straight and embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Oval with matte finish (ca.1850) Case: Paper-covered wood-frame with geometric design [Similar to uncommon case design "The Tangent Circle" Plate 195 on page 157 of "American Miniature Case Art" by Floyd and Marion Rinhart (Cranbury, New Jersey: A. S. Barnes and Co., Inc., 1969)], with a red velvet pinchpad and a red velvet cushion embossed with a floral design (1850-60s).
