Image: 1/16 plate; Head and shoulders of a man in a jacket, with a tie and high collars, with color applied to cheeks. Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Oval with matte surface (1850). Case: Paper-covered wood-frame with flat embossed geometric design, red velvet pinchpad, red velvet cushion embossed with floral design (post-1850).
