Image: 1/6 plate; Head and shoulders of a man wearing a vest and tie with high collar and color applied to his cheeks. Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Oval with matte finish (1850). Case: Paper-covered wood-frame with a scarce "Bird and Grapes" design (Berg No. 5-34) on front, and geometric design on back, red velvet pinchpad, red velvet cushion embossed with floral design (1850-60s).
