Image: 1/6 plate; Head and shoulders of a man with a large chin-only beard dressed in a jacket with a slender tie, with applied color on cheeks. Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Oval with matte finish and ornate (late 1850s). Case: Paper-covered wood-frame with a geometric design with patterned gilding on interior and exterior, with eggplant velvet pinchpad and a eggplant velvet cushion (1850-60s).
