Image: 1/6 plate; Man wearing a dark coat and patterned scarf, with upturned collar, and spectacles on top of his head. Preserver: [none]. Mat: Brown paper cut in an octagonal shape with patterned gilding. Case: Leather-covered wood-frame embossed on the front with a very rare geometric (Berg No. 5-56) design, with an unembossed back, a red velvet preserver, and rose silk cushion (1839-45).
