Image: 1/6 plate on ruby glass; Boy seated in posing chair, resting forearm on table, wearing long sleeved roundabout with shiny buttons, partially unbuttoned, and white turned-down collar, hair parted on the side. Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Oval with matte finish and ornate (late 1850s). Case: Leather-covered wood-framed half case embossed with a geometric design, edged with a gilded pattern both on exterior and interior, with a red velvet pinchpad (1846-1850).
