Image: 1/6 plate; Seated woman with arm resting on cloth-covered posing table, wearing a dark long sleeved ress with white undersleeves and a white work collar and a whitework tie clasped with a gold colored brooch at the throat, color applied to her cheeks. Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Double elliptical, embossed with ornate design (late 1850s early 1860s. Case: Leather-covered wood-frame embossed with a floral and geometric design both front and back with gilded patterned edge front exterior and both sides of interior; with red velvet pinchpad, and red velvet cushion embossed with photographer's name and address (1850s).
