Image: 1/6 plate; Standing boy leaning against a cloth-covered posing table adorned with a book, with curly hair, dressed in a short-sleeved plaid front-pleated top with whitework edged neck and sleeves, checked long trousers pleated and buttoned at the front over the shirt , holding a hip-high wooden hoop in his hand. Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Oval with matte finish and ornate (late 1850s). Case: Paper-covered wood-frame embossed with a geometric design both front and back, with a red velvet pinchpad and a red velvet cushion embossed with a geometric design (1850-60s).
