Image: 1/4 plate; White haired older man wearing spectacles, dressed in a dark jacket, dark silk vest, white shirt with upturned collar and dark tie, and a black cord with watch fob around his neck, holding a cane in his hand. Preserver: [none] (pre-1847). Mat: Oval with matte finish and ornate (late 1850s). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame embossed with a floral design both front and back, with gilded edge trim both exterior and interior, with a plum colored pinchpad and a ruby red cushion embossed with a geometric design (ca. 1850).
