Image: 1/2 plate; Three men seated in front with two men standing behind, all but one wearing dark jackets, some with vests or pocket squares, three wear their collar points up, while two wear them turned down, all wear a neck tie, one seated man wears a light checked jacket with matching pants, a striped tie, and a hat on his head, two men have mustaches, and two have beards, color is applied to their cheeks. Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Double elliptical, embossed with ornate design (late 1850s early 1860s). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame embossed with a simple lined design with a simple small geometric design in the center on the front only, with a plain (unembossed) back, a gilded edge trim on the interior, a red velvet pinchpad, and a red velvet cushion embossed with a geometric design (ca. 1850).Inscription:
