Image: 1/6 plate; Seated woman with arm resting on a book upon a cloth-covered posing table, hair parted in the center and smoothed down over the head and behind the ears, wearing a long sleeved dress made of a printed fabric, with a small white collar, epaulettes, and cuffed at the wrists. Preserver: Straight and embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Nonpariel with sandy finish (1840s).
