Image: Seated woman, with hair parted in the center, covering her ears, and high on the crown, wearing a shoulder-baring dark dress with a fan bosom and long fitted sleeves, white undersleeves, and a detached white lace collar with a plaid ribbon attached, gilded rings on her fingers and color applied to her cheeks and lips.
Preserver: Straight, narrow, embossed with simple pattern (after 1850).
Mat: Oval with sandy finish (late 1840s).
Case: Leather covered wood frame half case embossed with a scarce floral design (Berg No. 4-69) on the back, with a gilded interior edge trim and a red pinchpad (ca. 1850).
